An online survey commissioned by Intel has found, among other things, that 46% of women would rather go without sex for two weeks than give up the Internet for that long. The numbers get bigger for certain age groups; 49% of women aged 18-34 would make that choice, and 52% of women aged 35-44.

I’ve seen a lot of links lately discussing the depressing level of literacy in the US these days. Found this image and while I don’t blame sports for all of the problem, I think the focus on sports to the exclusion of academic excellence is a huge part of it.

So we went trick-or-treating with my little monster last night. It was fun and he raked in a huge load of candy, as usual. I noticed that at one stop they were handing out Chick Tracts! I haven’t seen those in years, except online. He actually got one, which I might keep. They are semi-collectable because Chick has a habit of editing and re-issuing them to fit his current worldview.
